Nope, just your icon. No offense.

JUST IMAGINE HOW FUNNY IT WOULD BE POOPLAH

Fuck you. >:(

Baby, ima butta yo bread.

hawt stuff right here. must not be wasted

I loaf you.
Note that "loaf" could be interpreted as love or loathe, or I may simply be creating a new verb.
And you will never know.

That was so cryptic and vague that I don't know what to respond with.

I loaf you too, baby.

I used to despise you, but now that I'm back and I'm reviewing our long and eventful relationship...

Congrats, I don't despise you anymore! I just simply think poorly of you!

I don't even know who you are.

Hi, I'm brokenrecord6299!

Now you do.

I don't know how to pronounce your name.

"oo" as in 'zoo', "laph" as in 'loft'

Nah, I like you.

<3 <3 <3

I haven't seen any hateable posts by you, but I dare say, your avatar is the one reason I gave up watching the Doctor in the 70's... that bloody cockney accent was undecipherable in my pre-adolescent youth :(

I'm so sorry to hear that :(

Quite alright! There was more than enough sci-fi to fill in the gap: Babylon 5, the first few Star Trek series, Firefly... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomorrow_People O_o

Maybe you should give Who another shot, man. It's not a perfect show, but it certainly has plenty of charm.

i should start watching doctor who sometime, shouldn't i

Only if you enjoy 100% campiness.

poo laugh

ew gross

if i were to start with dr who, were would i best begin?

You sorta have a lot of options.

In case you weren't aware, which you probably are, there are two Doctor Who series. The one that ran from 1963 to 1989, and the one that started in 2005 and is still going.

If you just want to watch the 2005 revival show, just start with the first episode and watch it in order like any other show. It starts with the 9th Doctor and is made to introduce the show to new viewers, if you watch from here there's no issue of being lost from 'starting partway through'. Get ready for plenty of campiness and episode quality going all over the place, every episode is a 50/50 chance of being absolutely dreadful or incredibly wonderful, moreso than any other show I've ever seen.

If you want to watch the original series (which I think is way better btw) you have 26 years of weekly television to go through. The show followed a serialised format of 2-12 20min parts for each story, and most of them were self contained so it's generally easy and safe to watch them out of order. With the show changing with the times, some eras of the show can feel very different from others.

Always start with the very first episode, "An Unearthly Child". You don't need to watch the next three episodes in the serial, but you can if you want. Despite what others might say, I think everyone should start with this episode. It gives the proper mysterious introduction that the show was intended to start with, and it's p cool yo. After watching that, I'll give you have three options:

-Be a tough guy and keep watching in order. It has '60s production values, it has episodes that are lost and unavailable, it has pacing issues due to having to meet episode quota. But I think the 1st Doctor's run has the most inventive and interesting story ideas, and you'll get to see the development of The Doctor's character over time which is a pretty cool thing to experience that most people don't even think about.

-Skip to season 7 (first episode of the 3rd Doctor) and watch in order, trying out serials from the previous two Doctors whenever you feel like it. If black & white isn't your thing, this might be the place to start. Doctor Who moved to colour and upped their production game a bit, though it's still cheap silly sci-fi. The only problem with starting here is that you're sorta picking up with a story arc that doesn't represent the rest of the series well. The 3rd Doctor gets exiled to earth and that's where most of his run takes place. Very little time travel, very little space travel, but probably the most consistently good run of episodes in the show's history.

-Jump around watching whatever serials you feel like. This is what most people do. Look at a list of serials, pick some well-regarded ones or just ones that you find interesting, and jump in. The upside is that you get plenty of variety, and the downside is that since you won't have as much time with any of the characters you won't be as familiar with them, and in turn won't care about them as much.

That was a lot more than i originally intended to type.

holy shit

will save this, thanks a lot mang
